I am a graduate of Oral Roberts University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Theology and a Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. I am also trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I hold licensure in Oklahoma as a Licensed Marital and Family Therapist.
Life comes with unexpected challenges, none of which we should walk through alone. When difficulties arise, we need relationship and community; someone to come alongside us, listen and provide insight and support. My job as a counselor is to help you, through our therapeutic relationship, to identify goals for yourself and uncover whatever it is that is preventing you from reaching those goals. Whether it is trauma, anxiety, depression, abuse or a lack of meaning and direction; I want to help you uncover these obstacles, and be a support as you achieve wellbeing.
My therapeutic approach is Client Centered and integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Systems Therapy. I am also trained in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for work with children. You can expect a non-judgmental, caring atmosphere when we first meet and an opportunity to tell your story. Together we will develop a plan to heal, grow and overcome the problems which are causing you pain.
My experience in counseling includes work with all ages. However, I do possess a specialty in working with children who are experiencing difficulty related to significant events in their lives. Significant events may include trauma, divorce, and bullying, among others. Children who display negative changes in emotional well-being or behavior, may need someone to talk to who can provide safety and education.
For those clients who are open to Christian Counseling, I also find it helpful to explore faith as an important part of the healing and growth process.
